The Cambridge Farmers' Market
We are a good old-fashioned farmers' market with a lovely atmosphere and a selection of fresh, local goods brought to you by Waikato growers and businesses. Since 2010 this year-round outdoor market takes place in a beautiful setting underneath the trees at Victoria Square in the centre of Cambridge.
The Cambridge Farmers' Market is a great community market: This is where locals shop, friends and neighbours meet and whole families come together. Vendors and customers share recipes and planting tips, enjoying the unique connection between producers and consumers only found at farmers' markets.
Our market is very popular with children, and during our events the market is bustling with little ones joining in the scavenger hunt, doing crafts and playing with our giant games.
Check the Events Calendar below for festival and party dates!
The Cambridge Farmers' Market offers free on-road parking, Eftpos service and toilet facilities for your convenience. Our sitting area is covered with a large gazebo and buskers are providing live music.
Be part of your community and support the Cambridge Farmers' Market!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Who is at the market?
The vendors at the Cambridge Farmers' Market are a dedicated bunch of local farmers and producers who show up no matter what the weather throws at them. All produce is local and the variety depends on the season. This means the market changes all the time!
Our year-round vendors offer meat, fish, milk, eggs, coffee, bread and other baked goods, muesli, preserves, and hot and take-away meals. We have a hearty bunch of growers who sell year-round seasonal vegetables, lettuce, baby and micro greens, and plants and seedlings.
During the growing season, the market is a bustling hub an extra number of small and large growers selling strawberries, asparagus, plums, avocados, beans, capsicums, tomatoes, feijoas, passion fruit, grapes and so much more!
The market currently has 34 members and several seasonal stallholders.
We encourage customers to come year-round and learn to eat with the seasons. To help them on their way, we offer seasonal recipes highlighting ingredients that are currently available at the markets. Pick up recipes at the Eftpos table before shopping, or check out our market blogs:
