ABOUT USThe Hamilton Farmers' MarketIn March 2006 the Hamilton Farmers' Market started with 15 stallholders in Hamilton. Soon it grew and a group of vendors decided to also sell in Cambridge on Victoria Square. The Waikato Farmers' Markets were born. The Hamilton and the Cambridge Farmers' Market showcase what wonderful products the Waikato has to offer and are thriving and growing every year. There are now over 60 members in Hamilton and several seasonal stallholders, all selling delicious farm produce and food products!
The Hamilton Farmers' Market found its permanent home at Claudelands in 2016. The Claudelands barn and grounds provide large indoor and outdoor spaces, keeping customers and vendors happy and dry year-round. A large, free carpark, Eftpos service and toilet facilities are amenities our customers appreciate. The Hamilton Farmers' Market is more than a Sunday shopping destination: Hamiltonians come to buy local products from local growers and businesses, chat with the vendors, meet friends and family, have a coffee and listen to live music. A great way to spend your Sunday morning - give it a try! |
WHAT TO EXPECTWho is at the market? We have a great mix of farmers and local businesses at the market. All produce is local and the variety depends on the season. This means the market changes all the time!
Our year-round vendors offer meat, fish, milk, eggs, honey, coffee, bread and other baked goods, muesli, chocolate, hot and take-away meals, preserves, nut butters and smoothies. We are lucky to have eight growers who sell year-round seasonal vegetables, lettuce, baby and micro greens, apples, citruses, avocados and plants and seedlings. During the growing season, the market is practically bursting at the seams with small and large growers selling strawberries, asparagus, plums, beans, capsicums, tomatoes, feijoas, passion fruit, grapes and so much more! We encourage customers to come year-round and learn to eat with the seasons. To help them on their way, we offer seasonal recipes highlighting ingredients that are currently available at the markets. Pick up recipes at the green container before shopping, or check out our market blogs: |
